Junior Section

The Junior Section continues to grow and at present we have over eighty members including several girls.

Sean Payne (Junior Captain), Luke Whitmore and Tommy Smith are in this year’s successful Leslie Wood team and four immediate past members of the section, Michael McPherson, Danny Smothit, Salam Abdullah and Sam Lipscombe are in the Thornton Cup side.

The first Youth Shield match against Ilford was won 3-2.

During the Easter Holiday a very successful coaching session was held; the first of a series to be conducted over the year.

Developing Junior participation is a priority this season and we hope that, by investing Russ Dunlop’s generous donation from his Captain’s Charity, we will be able to involve even more of the present membership in a regular golfing experience.
